Simmesport
The Simmesport area received funding from the Gumbo Grants provided by the CPF. This project is anticipated to connect over 450 locations with Gig/ Gig speeds fiber internet. Currently in Phase 6, Home Install Scheduling.
- 1/5/26 – For areas where fiber is not available yet we are waiting on the Rural Utilities Service to approve levee crossings before we can continue construction.
- 3/24/26 Levee crossings have been approved and construction is done.
- 4/1/26 The mainline installation for this network is reaching its conclusion. The window for individual home-side connections will be brief. Residents who fail to register their address before the project deadline, June 30th, 2026 risk being bypassed by the current construction phase.
