The North River Road and Section Road areas of Port Allen were recipients of the Community Connect grant award from the USDA. This project is anticipated to connect 286 locations with Gig/Gig speeds. Direct Communications has also opened a Community Tech Center (6955 Section Rd, Port Allen), open from 7am-7pm M-F and 9am-2pm on Saturdays. This center is free to the public and has high speed internet, computers, and a printer available.
